About the event
This training offers caregivers the opportunity to learn key skills from Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care. Learn why communication can be so challenging when dementia is in the picture. Learn positive ways to get connected and communicate with those we care for who are living with dementia. This training will also examine some of the challenging, frustrating, and scary situations caregivers find themselves in. Learn to become a dementia detective to discover what is behind these challenges, and how to communicate and provide support in those moments.
Free workshop for caregivers who meet the following criteria:
• Caregiver provides unpaid care to an individual at least 60 years old.
• Individual receiving care lives in the community and not in a nursing home or care home.
